The Japanese Experience at Plaza Singapura

If you’re a fan of Japanese foods and want to experience their authentic flavours, visit the multi-level shopping mall at Plaza Singapura. It was built in the mid-1970s, but has recently undergone a major transformation. Now, the shopping complex serves as a hub of activity for a diverse range of people from different walks of life. Let’s explore its most famous offerings. First, try an-pan, a Japanese bun filled with red bean paste and described as heavenly.

Plaza Singapura is a multi-level shopping mall

The Plaza Singapura is a contemporary multi-level shopping mall located on Orchard Road in Singapore. The mall is a one-stop urban mall with a number of different retail outlets over seven floors. There are two basement goods bays and ample car parking areas, so even those who don’t plan to spend all day shopping will be able to get a place to park and wait for their cars.

The mall has recently undergone a makeover, adding an Asian wing that features popular Asian restaurants. It also has over 320 shops, including several anchor tenants such as Best Denki, Spotlight, Marks & Spencer, and Yamaha. One of the new concepts is NomadX, a multi-label concept store that brings Taobao to life with colourful murals.

It was built in the mid-1970s

Built in the mid-1970s, Plaza Singapura is one of Singapore’s oldest shopping malls. It’s a popular hangout spot with many dining options and shopping options. It was the first multi-level mall in Singapore, and was also known as the largest multi-tenant centre. It features two basements and seven levels of retail space. It’s also home to many popular local and international brands.

During its early days, the mall was known as Rumah Bomba Circus. It was surrounded by Malay street hawkers, a tattoo parlor, and a mall full of boutiques. The mall was later rebuilt by Kuok Holdings, a group of billionaire brothers. Unlike its predecessor, the mall now has a six-storey shopping complex featuring boutiques, restaurants, cafes, fashion outlets, and even a Cold Storage flagship store.

It has undergone major renovations

First opened in 1974, Plaza Singapura has gone through major renovations in 2012. The renovated shopping mall now boasts 28 percent more net lettable area and 329 brands. The revamped mall is seamlessly connected to Atrium@Orchard’s retail podium through internal walkways on levels one, three and four. Today, the mall features an exciting new facade and a more vibrant front plaza.

The facade of the building was recently renovated, adding architectural ribbons and wave-like forms to the façade. The 170-metre frontage features the Jelly Baby Family, a sculpture by Italian artist Mauro Peruchetti. The Jelly Baby Family aims to reflect the beauty and unity of multiculturalism and family. The building is now known as the heart of the city. Listed as one of the most modern malls in Singapore, Plaza Singapura is an excellent place to shop and dine.

It is a meeting point for many people

In 1974, a large mall called Plaza Singapura opened in Singapore. It is one of the largest shopping centres in South-east Asia. It features a Yaohan department store, Yamaha musical instrument showroom and music school. The mall is operated by DBS Land, the successor of CapitaLand. The mall features three interior courtyards and an external forecourt. During its construction, the mall was home to many international brands.

In recent years, the mall underwent a makeover, including an updated facade. Eighty new stores opened in the mall. Tim Ho Wan, a one-Michelin-starred dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong, opened here in April last year. It has sparked a frenzy and brought back long mall queues. However, it is still a meeting point for many people and has a soft spot for those who grew up with memories of the mall.

It is surrounded by cultural, leisure and retail attractions

If you’re in the market for a new place to shop in Singapore, you’ve come to the right place. The Plaza Singapura mall has recently undergone a makeover. Its new wing boasts a variety of Asian restaurants. There are over 320 shops and restaurants in the plaza, including anchor tenants like Best Denki and Spotlight. The shopping mall also features several anchor tenants, including the Yamaha department store and the Marks & Spencer. NomadX, a multi-label concept store, brings the spirit of Taobao to life with an authentic Asian feel.

In addition to being surrounded by retail and cultural attractions, the Plaza Singapura is situated in the heart of the Orchard district. Several shopping malls can be found in the area, including Ion Orchard Mall and Orchard Central. Visitors can visit the National Museum of Singapore, a historical landmark. The museum was established in 1849, so it is well worth visiting the museum and other attractions.
